Nuclea to Explore Building Nuclear Test Reactor in Utah to Advance Morpheus Microreactor Deployment

On August 5, Mangoceuticals announced that Nuclea Energy USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of its merger partner, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Utah Office of Energy Development to explore siting a nuclear test reactor at the Utah St. Rafael Energy Laboratory to advance the deployment of the Morpheus microreactor.

Under the MOU, Nuclea USA and the Utah Office of Energy Development will collaborate on test reactor siting and support related communications and coordination with the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The parties will also evaluate pathways for future deployment of Nuclea's technology in Utah. The collaboration is viewed as a step in Nuclea's micro modular reactor research, development, testing, and demonstration process, with the goal of advancing innovation and validation of advanced nuclear energy technology in Utah.

The Morpheus microreactor developed by Nuclea is a lead-cooled, graphite-moderated micro modular reactor designed with factory-fabricated and transportable configurations, with capacity expandable from approximately 3.5 megawatts to 50 megawatts. According to the company, its target application scenarios include data centers, defense facilities, remote industrial operations, and off-grid communities.

Nuclea CEO Josef Freundorfer stated that the company looks forward to participating in the nuclear energy innovation efforts taking shape at the Utah St. Rafael Energy Laboratory and believes this collaboration will help showcase its technology features and accelerate deployment plans. Nuclea Chairman and Co-founder Sagar Sanghera stated that USREL has relevant experience in demonstrating advanced power generation technologies, and the company looks forward to advancing the next phase of technology development with Utah.

Mangoceuticals CEO Jacob Cohen stated that this MOU highlights the strategic value of the company's previously announced business combination. He noted that Nuclea's collaboration with the Utah Office of Energy Development, along with its planned cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, will advance the Morpheus microreactor toward demonstration and commercial deployment.

On July 30, 2026, Mangoceuticals announced the signing of a definitive business combination agreement with Nuclea. The transaction is intended to provide Nuclea with a path to listing on Nasdaq through Mangoceuticals and expand its access to capital markets to support the continued development, licensing, and commercialization of the Morpheus microreactor. The business combination remains subject to customary closing conditions, including obtaining necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals.
