Recently, the "nuclear insurance material loss actuarial method, device, equipment and storage medium," led by the insurance brokerage company under CGN Capital and jointly developed with CGN Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute, officially obtained invention patent authorization from the China National Intellectual Property Administration. This is the first invention patent in China's nuclear insurance industry, marking a major breakthrough by CGN in the core technologies of nuclear insurance actuarial science and risk management, and filling the technical gap in this field.

As a typical special insurance category characterized by high coverage, high value and high risk, nuclear insurance features prominent "low-frequency, high-loss" characteristics. Unlike traditional property insurance, nuclear insurance has very few claims samples and lacks localized, systematic quantitative tool support, making nuclear insurance actuarial science a long-standing technical challenge for the industry. How to translate nuclear power engineering safety indicators into the language of insurance actuarial science has long been a key technical bottleneck constraining the independent development of China's nuclear insurance industry.

The core innovation of this patent lies in the deep integration of probabilistic safety assessment technology in the nuclear power engineering field with insurance actuarial science, innovatively proposing the "risk matrix reconstruction method" to achieve quantitative assessment of nuclear material loss under conditions of very few claims data samples, and constructing a complete nuclear material loss actuarial model system, thereby solving the industry-wide common challenge in traditional nuclear insurance and insurance actuarial science of mismatching between probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) engineering parameters and insurance actuarial loss data. The related achievements will play an important role in multiple key areas, including nuclear insurance pricing, captive insurance company risk management, international reinsurance arrangements and nuclear power plant asset risk management.

During the application process, by virtue of its outstanding creativity, novelty and practicality, this patent completed examination through the patent prioritized examination channel of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, taking only 13 months from application initiation to final authorization, far shorter than the average 3-year cycle for ordinary invention patents, fully demonstrating the high recognition by the national intellectual property authorities of the technological innovation value and industrialization application prospects of this patent.
