The National Nuclear Safety Administration approved the Quality Assurance Program for the construction phase of Taishan Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4.

The National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) recently issued a notice approving the "Quality Assurance Program (Construction Phase) (Revision 1) for Units 3 and 4 of the Guangdong Taishan Nuclear Power Plant." The notice is dated July 22, 2026, and bears the reference number Guo He An Fa [2026] No. 129.

According to the notice, CGN Taishan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (Phase II) had previously submitted a request for the review of the "Quality Assurance Program (Construction Phase) for Units 3 and 4 of the Guangdong Taishan Nuclear Power Plant" and a subsequent request for the approval of "Revision 1" of the same program.

In accordance with the requirements of the *Nuclear Safety Law of the People's Republic of China* and the *Regulations on the Supervision and Management of Civil Nuclear Facility Safety of the People's Republic of China*, the NNSA conducted a technical review of the submitted application documents. It determined that the "Quality Assurance Program (Construction Phase) (Revision 1) for Units 3 and 4 of the Guangdong Taishan Nuclear Power Plant" was acceptable and granted its approval.

The notice requires CGN Taishan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (Phase II) to strictly adhere to the approved quality assurance program and ensure the construction quality of Units 3 and 4 of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. Copies of the notice have also been sent to the South China Regional Office of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision and the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
