Huaneng Nuclear Power Receives First WANO Corporate Peer Review

From July 14 to 24, 2026, Huaneng Nuclear Power received its first Corporate Peer Review (CPR) organized by the Atlanta Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), successfully achieving the set objectives.

WANO CPR is a widely accepted headquarters-level peer review in the global nuclear industry and serves as an important channel for in-depth international exchange. A 14-member assessment team, consisting of 7 foreign experts from the United States and Canada, along with personnel from the WANO Shanghai Office and industry management, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Huaneng Nuclear Power's management capabilities in seven areas: corporate leadership, corporate governance, oversight and monitoring, independent oversight, corporate support services, human resources and leadership development, and corporate communication. This review recognized the experience accumulated by Huaneng Nuclear Power in recent years in strengthening headquarters governance capacity building and maintaining safe production performance.

Going forward, Huaneng Nuclear Power will continue to uphold the nuclear safety bottom line, adhere to the philosophy of pursuing excellence and self-transcendence, and comprehensively advance performance improvement with higher standards, stricter requirements, and more concrete measures, contributing Huaneng's strength to promoting the safe and high-quality development of the global nuclear industry, ensuring energy security, and supporting the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.
