Training Launch for First Batch of Operators for Units 1 and 2 of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant on Full-Scope Simulator

Recently, the first batch of operator training on the full-scope simulator for Units 1 and 2 of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant was officially launched. The training program lasts 6 months, with 48 candidate Reactor Operators (ROs) and 24 candidate Senior Reactor Operators (SROs) participating. Centering on the operators' "five fundamental skills," the training conducts systematic hands-on exercises on the simulator platform, building a reserve of operations personnel for subsequent project construction and safe unit operation.

The simulator for Units 1 and 2 can highly replicate the real working environment of the main control room and covers various operating conditions, making it an important platform for operations personnel to enhance their practical capabilities. The training is structured around five fundamental skills—close monitoring, precise control, conservative decision-making, teamwork, and knowledge mastery—integrating job conduct standards and team coordination requirements throughout the entire process. Practical exercises are conducted in conjunction with the General Operating Procedure (GOP), Abnormal Operating Procedure (AOP), Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP), and key unit safety functions to strengthen the comprehensive capabilities of candidate operators.

To ensure the quality of the first training batch, senior licensed personnel from Units 1 and 2 provide full-time on-site guidance, offering one-on-one Q&A sessions and corrective coaching targeting each trainee's weaknesses in fundamental skills. Regular assessments are conducted on monitoring, operation, procedure mastery, safety function application, and teamwork, with strict grading standards, accumulating experience for subsequent training series.

All trainees will continue to strengthen their operational skills, adhere to job standards, and accumulate practical experience through training, gradually building an operations team with solid skills, rigorous work ethics, and efficient collaboration. This will provide talent assurance for the timely progress of key milestones such as subsequent unit construction, fuel loading, and grid connection, and lay a solid foundation for the safe commissioning and stable operation of future units.
