Yang Changli, Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Group, Meets with Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaythong Kommasith and Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao-China Cooperation Committee Sengsadeth Sayasone

On September 7, Yang Changli, Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., met separately with Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaythong Kommasith and Sengsadeth Sayasone, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao-China Cooperation Committee, at the CGN Tower in Shenzhen, conducting in-depth exchanges on deepening practical cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture, and people's livelihood. Prior to the meetings, Malaythong Kommasith and his delegation also visited and inspected the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base. He Haibin, Chief Accountant of the Group, and Li Yilun, Vice President, attended relevant activities respectively.

Yang Changli welcomed Malaythong Kommasith and Sengsadeth Sayasone, expressing gratitude for the long-standing support from the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Lao-China Cooperation Committee, and introduced CGN's development history and industrial layout. He noted that Laos boasts sound economic growth momentum, prominent geographical advantages, outstanding natural resource endowments, and enormous potential for electricity demand, leaving broad space for bilateral cooperation. With the care and support of Lao governments at all levels, CGN's various businesses in Laos have achieved rapid development, with Phase I of the Northern Laos project fully completed and put into operation, and subsequent projects being accelerated. Looking toward the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and the medium-to-long term, CGN will actively implement the requirements of the Joint Statement between China and Laos on Building a Community with a Shared Future of All-Weather Strategic Partnership in the New Era, deeply align with and integrate into Laos's economic and social development plans, fully leverage its role as a leading enterprise and its advantages in technology, management, and capital, continuously increase investment and business presence in Laos, strengthen cooperation in multiple areas including clean energy, industrial development, under-panel economy, livelihood improvement, and talent cultivation, drive the development of related industries, and deliver more tangible cooperation outcomes in the new development stage to support Laos's high-quality economic and social development.

Malaythong Kommasith thanked CGN for its warm reception of the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce delegation and highly commended CGN's outstanding achievements in various business operations in Laos. He stated that the development direction of CGN's businesses in Laos is highly aligned with Laos's economic and social development plans and energy development planning, and welcomed CGN to continue expanding its investment and presence in Laos. The Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce is willing to establish a regular communication and coordination mechanism with CGN, continuously advance planning coordination and project implementation, and work together to deepen and solidify bilateral practical cooperation, bringing more cooperation outcomes to benefit the peoples of both countries.

Sengsadeth Sayasone thanked CGN for its outstanding contributions to Laos's economic and social development. She noted that CGN, as one of China's largest investors in Laos, has actively invested in clean energy projects, effectively boosting local income growth and community development, and setting a model for Lao-China cooperation. She expressed hope that CGN will continue to increase investment in Laos, attract more industries to the country, vigorously develop the under-panel economy, carry out vocational education and skills training, improve people's well-being, and contribute to building the Lao-China community with a shared future. The Lao-China Cooperation Committee will actively play its coordinating role and fully support CGN's business development in Laos.

Heads of the Office of the Minister, Department of Energy, Department of Enterprise Management, Institute of Industry, Trade and Energy, and Department of Policy Planning and Evaluation of the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce; heads of Electricite du Laos; relevant personnel from various divisions of the Lao-China Cooperation Committee; relevant personnel from the Chinese Embassy in Laos; and relevant heads from the Group's Strategic Planning Department, General Administration Department, Industrial Development Department, Nuclear Energy Management Department, as well as CGN Energy International, CGN Uranium Resources, and CGN Nuclear Technology Development attended the meetings.
