Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has recently integrated Hancom’s AI document solution, "Hancom Assistant," into "Hy-NuRI," its proprietary generative AI platform designed specifically for nuclear power plants. Capable of operating within a closed network environment isolated from external connections, the solution enables employees to perform tasks—such as information retrieval, report drafting, text editing, and summarization—using natural language commands, thereby significantly boosting operational productivity and security at the plants.

Previously, the implementation of generative AI in actual nuclear power plant operations was challenging due to the sector's stringent information security requirements. By integrating with KHNP’s proprietary AI platform, Hancom has successfully introduced generative AI into the operational environment of nuclear power plants for the first time. Employees can now rapidly access necessary information without having to manually sift through tens of thousands of pages of maintenance manuals, corporate regulations, and safety documentation; this reduces the time spent on repetitive document creation while enhancing operational accuracy and productivity.

Hancom is currently accelerating its AI Transformation (AX) business across the public and energy sectors, having recently secured contracts for projects such as the first phase of the National Assembly’s big data platform "AI National Assembly," the development of an AI-based knowledge retrieval system for BGF Group, and a generative AI initiative for Korea Western Power. Hancom CEO Kim Yeon-soo stated that establishing an environment for the safe use of generative AI within the nuclear power sector—a core national industry—is highly significant, adding that the company remains committed to supporting the safe and efficient application of generative AI across various industries.
