Recently, the China Institute for Radiation Protection, under CNNC Environmental Protection, completed the iterative upgrade of the SMARP2.0 digital radiation protection technical support system. This system can pre-calculate radiation dose levels in various areas of nuclear power operations, effectively resolving the long-standing industry challenge where frontline nuclear workers could not grasp on-site radiation conditions in advance, providing robust technical support for optimizing radiation work plans and ensuring worker radiation safety.

"SMARP2.0" New-Generation Digital Radiation Monitoring Core Equipment. "SMARP2.0" focuses on upgrading digital radiation monitoring hardware, deeply integrating advanced technologies such as multi-sensor data acquisition, 5G communications, and high-precision plant-area positioning to build a new-generation digital radiation monitoring equipment system. The system fully covers the entire process of workers entering the controlled area, performing on-site operations, and exiting the area, enabling remote, real-time, and rapid collection of radiation data including personnel doses, area dose rates, and surface contamination. It establishes a data exchange channel between the physical plant and the digital platform, creating a dynamically linked "digital-physical space" for radiation protection, effectively addressing industry pain points such as lagging data in traditional radiation monitoring and blind spots in on-site control. This helps improve the efficiency and quality of nuclear power site management, reduce labor costs, and enhance radiation safety awareness and control capabilities. SMARP2.0 will provide digital solutions for radiation protection site management at nuclear facilities, including intelligent radiation data perception, data mining analysis and protection simulation, risk warning, and decision support, advancing radiation protection and safety control at China's nuclear power plants toward a higher level of intelligence.
