China Isotope & Radiation's National Headquarters for Irradiation Application Industry Settles in Guangzhou
On August 11, the national headquarters of China Isotope & Radiation's irradiation application industry — CNNC Irradiation (Guangdong) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CNNC Irradiation") — officially settled in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, and entered the Pearl River New City. This marks an important milestone in the development of China Isotope & Radiation's irradiation application industry.
The relocation of the national headquarters for irradiation application to Guangzhou is a key step for China Isotope & Radiation in implementing the central-local cooperation deployment between CNNC and Guangdong Province, and in strategically positioning for the "15th Five-Year Plan." As the nuclear technology application industry platform of CNNC, China Isotope & Radiation possesses a complete industrial chain and core technological advantages in the irradiation application field. It is a leading domestic provider of irradiation facility design, manufacturing, installation, and operation & maintenance services, and has accumulated extensive industrialization experience in high-end medical device sterilization, green irradiation processing of food and traditional Chinese medicinal materials, and material modification.
The newly established CNNC Irradiation covers businesses including irradiation sterilization services, R&D and manufacturing of new irradiation materials, R&D and manufacturing of specialized irradiation equipment, performance testing of nuclear-grade materials and equipment, and irradiation sterilization dose validation. It will serve as the national operational headquarters for China Isotope & Radiation's irradiation application industry, based in the Greater Bay Area, radiating across China, and comprehensively positioning itself in the high-end science and technology innovation industry track.
The establishment of CNNC Irradiation is an important practice of China Isotope & Radiation's deep integration into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. After the project's implementation, it will fully leverage the resource integration and industrial traction role of the headquarters economy, driving the clustering of upstream and downstream industrial chains — including high-end inspection and testing, advanced functional new materials, and irradiation equipment manufacturing — in the Bay Area, and helping Guangzhou build a leading domestic nuclear technology application industrial cluster.
Meanwhile, China Isotope & Radiation will leverage its R&D advantages to deeply collaborate with universities and research institutes in Tianhe District and surrounding areas, jointly building industry-university-research collaborative innovation platforms, accelerating the aggregation of high-level talents in nuclear engineering, radiation materials, and high-end testing, and continuously enhancing the independent innovation capability of the Greater Bay Area in the irradiation application field.
As a core urban district of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Tianhe District in Guangzhou boasts a strong industrial foundation, vibrant innovation elements, and an excellent business environment. China Isotope & Radiation will use this as a strategic fulcrum to continuously increase R&D investment and production capacity deployment in the irradiation application field, promote the large-scale, industrialized, and scenario-based implementation of green nuclear technology, and provide efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly irradiation technology services to downstream customers.
In the future, China Isotope & Radiation will rely on this national headquarters platform to further consolidate and expand its leading position in the irradiation application industry, drive industrial upgrading through scientific and technological innovation, and contribute "CIRC strength" to serving national strategies and promoting green and low-carbon development.
