Module 5 of Containment Steel Liner Successfully Lifted at Unit 3 of Guangdong Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant

On August 10, the construction of Unit 3 at CGN's Guangdong Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant reached a critical milestone. A Zoomlion 2,000-tonne crawler crane, serving as the core lifting main force, successfully completed the precise positioning of Module 5 of the containment steel liner.

This lifting operation involved significant technical challenges and demanding working conditions. The steel liner Module 5 weighed nearly 280 tonnes, with a component diameter of 45 meters, a height of nearly 6 meters, and a wall thickness of only 6 millimeters, making it a typical ultra-large thin-walled flexible component. The module's lateral windward area exceeded 300 square meters, making it susceptible to wind-induced sway during lifting, which imposed extremely high requirements on the crane's operational stability, control precision, and heavy-load adaptability. The Zoomlion 2,000-tonne crawler crane, with its formidable lifting capacity, exceptional fine-control performance, and all-terrain stable operation capability, successfully completed this high-difficulty lifting task, achieving the integrated precise positioning of the steel liner module and the maintenance steel platform.

It is understood that this construction innovatively adopted the integrated "ground pre-assembly, integral lifting" process with platform integration, overturning the traditional step-by-step operation mode of "lifting the shell first, then assembling the platform at height." The project team completed the welding, fixation, and overall integration of the maintenance steel platform and the steel liner module on the ground in advance, transferring all originally high-altitude, high-risk operations to standardized ground procedures. This fundamentally reduced construction safety risks, significantly enhanced operational safety, effectively shortened the construction schedule, and improved project quality and construction efficiency.

During the construction process, the Zoomlion crawler crane was equipped with a dedicated lifting truss, achieving uniform load distribution through 64 lifting points to securely support the ultra-large thin-walled module, effectively preventing component deformation caused by uneven local stress. The site strictly followed standardized lifting procedures: after lifting, the module was first suspended 0.5 meters above the ground for leveling, with comprehensive verification of component attitude, stress state, and overall stability before proceeding with a steady ascent; throughout the process, anti-sway cables and guy ropes were used for auxiliary stabilization, with the equipment operating at a uniform, steady pace throughout, eliminating sudden starts and stops to ensure full control over the module's aerial attitude and reliable precise positioning.

As a core high-end equipment piece for major national engineering projects, the Zoomlion 2,000-tonne crawler crane is specifically designed for ultra-large-scale projects such as wind power, nuclear power, and large-scale infrastructure. It features outstanding lifting performance, broad working-condition adaptability, high control precision, and strong operational stability, and can efficiently handle complex lifting conditions involving ultra-large, ultra-heavy, thin-walled, and large-windward-area components. The equipment has successfully completed numerous high-difficulty core lifting tasks for "Hualong One" series nuclear power projects, including key modules, domes, and steel liners, with its performance proven through multiple premium nuclear engineering projects in real-world practice, establishing it as a benchmark lifting equipment piece for domestic nuclear power engineering construction.
