All construction and repair work for the new Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery Center at Bulgaria's St. Ivan Rilski University Hospital has been fully completed. According to the hospital, a latest-generation medical linear accelerator has been installed in the center, capable of sub-millimeter patient positioning accuracy.

The equipment was delivered by the Ministry of Health under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as part of the investment project "Modernization of the National System for Diagnosis and Treatment of Oncological Diseases," funded by the European Commission's Recovery and Resilience Facility. The device is a TrueBeam-EDGE linear accelerator manufactured by Varian Medical Systems, equipped with BrainLab's ExactTrac Dynamic system, valued at EUR 5.1 million, excluding VAT.

The construction of the new center building was also funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, within the scope of the "Modernization of Hospital Facilities" investment, project C12.I1. The total budget for this project amounts to EUR 3,403,681.15, including VAT, of which EU funding is EUR 2,836,400.96, excluding VAT.

The hospital stated that the new Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery Center will open to patients after the necessary licensing procedures are completed.
