According to reports, on September 29, all main coolant piping modules of the nuclear island of Unit 1 at China's Guangdong Taipingling Nuclear Power Project were hoisted and installed in place. The main coolant piping is known as the “main artery” of the reactor, used to connect the reactor pressure vessel, steam generators and reactor coolant pumps, providing a circulation channel for the primary coolant, and is classified as nuclear safety Class 1 and seismic Category I equipment. The main coolant system of the “Hualong One” (Hualong One) reactor consists of three loops, connecting the three major main equipment into a closed loop through the main coolant piping, and is an important part of the primary pressure boundary.

The completion of all installations in place means that the installation of the core major components of the nuclear island is basically completed. The hoisting and installation of the main coolant piping requires precise control of pipe section angles and center-of-gravity positions within a confined space...

The Taipingling Nuclear Power Project is located in Huidong County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. It is the first “Hualong One” independent third-generation nuclear power construction project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a planned construction of 6 million-kilowatt-class nuclear power units. After the two units of the first phase of the project are fully completed and put into operation, the annual power generation is expected to exceed 18 billion kilowatt-hours, with an equivalent annual carbon dioxide emission reduction of approximately 16.63 million tons.

It is reported that Taipingling Nuclear Power is positioned as a zero-carbon baseload power source for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As a highly reliable, zero-emission baseload power source, nuclear power can complement new energy sources and enhance the region's energy self-sufficiency. The completion of all main coolant piping modules of Unit 1 in place has steadily advanced the project toward the fuel loading milestone and created conditions for further enhancing the clean energy supply guarantee capacity of the Greater Bay Area.
