Syrian Atomic Energy Commission Holds First Nuclear Energy Experts Forum to Promote Research Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy
The Syrian Atomic Energy Commission (SAEC) held the First Syrian Nuclear Energy Experts Forum on October 11 at its headquarters in Damascus, bringing together nuclear science scholars and professional technical personnel from inside and outside Syria, with the aim of deepening research collaboration and advancing academic efforts in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy.

The meeting was co-chaired by the current Chairman of the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission, Mudar al-Okla, and the Commission's first Director, Ibrahim Haddad, and was held at the Commission's Damascus headquarters in the capital.
The press office of the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the forum is an important part of an overall plan to establish a nationwide network of professional talent, with the goal of closely linking Syrian nuclear-related researchers and engineering and technical personnel active at home and abroad, while comprehensively supporting scientific research oriented toward the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
The forum aims to build an institutionalized framework among Syrian scientists, experts, and young scholars for transferring practical experience and exchanging professional knowledge, and, through collaborative project development with the Commission, to develop targeted professional engineering projects and stimulate local scientific research and innovation.
The disciplines and technical directions highlighted for advancement in this exchange cover key fields such as Nuclear Engineering, physics and chemistry, nanomaterials science, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Safety, biotechnology, molecular biology, geology, and Radiopharmacy.
Previously, on September 16, the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission officially announced the launch of the "Syria Nuclear Energy Experts Platform," aimed at providing Syrian experts, researchers, and professional engineers engaged in the peaceful development of atomic energy at home and abroad with regular and flexible channels for scientific research cooperation and mechanisms for sharing experience.
