South China Supervision Station Conducts Multi-Department Joint Inspection of Radioactive Source Safety in Guilin
Recently, the South China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station (South China Supervision Station) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and local public security and ecology and environment departments of Guilin City, formed a joint inspection team and went to Guangxi Guilin Zhenghan Irradiation Center Co., Ltd. to carry out routine radiation safety inspection and special inspection of radioactive source safety.

It is reported that the joint inspection team conducted on-site physical inspection of radiation shielding facilities and carried out on-site tests of the safety interlock system to ensure the effective operation of protective facilities; at the same time, it retrieved and compared security duty and video surveillance records, urging the implementation of physical, technical and human protection measures. The inspection team also checked the quantity, location and status of radioactive sources one by one against the ledger to ensure that all Category I radioactive sources are safe and controllable.
Next, the South China Supervision Station stated that it will continue to focus on full-chain safety control of radioactive sources, adhere to a strict, prudent, meticulous and practical work style, continuously strengthen supervision and inspection of high-risk source-related units, keep a close eye on key links such as radioactive source management, security prevention and emergency preparedness, and resolutely safeguard the bottom line of radiation safety.
This multi-department joint inspection further tightened and consolidated the main responsibility for radiation safety of nuclear technology utilization units, effectively prevented hidden dangers of high-risk radioactive sources, and provided solid guarantees for the healthy development of the nuclear technology utilization industry and regional radiation safety in South China.
