US Centrus and Radiant Sign Long-Term HALEU Supply Agreement

On September 9, 2026, US nuclear fuel and services supplier Centrus Energy Corp. (Centrus) and mobile nuclear microreactor developer Radiant announced that the two parties have signed a multi-year definitive contract. Under the agreement, Centrus will supply high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) fuel for Radiant's Kaleidos microreactor to support the deployment of multiple reactors.

The agreement stipulates that Centrus will begin delivering HALEU by the end of this decade. The arrangement will add a domestic US fuel source for Radiant as it advances the commercial expansion of the Kaleidos reactor, and will also add a new HALEU customer for Centrus. The agreement also includes Radiant making prepayments to Centrus to support Centrus in building domestic US commercial uranium enrichment capacity.

Centrus President and CEO Amir Vexler said that signing the contract with Radiant is another step in the company's effort to build a domestic US fuel supply chain for next-generation nuclear energy. By bringing microreactor developers into its fuel supply scope, Centrus hopes to strengthen the US fuel supply network and provide fuel assurance for the commercialization of emerging nuclear technologies.

Radiant Chief Nuclear Officer Rita Baranwal said that nuclear reactor deployment cannot be separated from fuel supply, and Radiant is advancing fuel assurance in parallel with reactor construction rather than relying on a single path. She said the agreement will provide a sustained HALEU supply for Kaleidos commercial and national security applications, helping to reduce fuel constraints in advanced nuclear energy deployment.

Centrus said that because its technology originates in the United States and relies on a US manufacturing supply chain, its enriched product supplied to Radiant will fall into the “non-obligated” category and can be used for national security-related purposes. Centrus said its AC100 centrifuge design is currently the domestic US technology available for such enrichment and capable of immediate deployment.

Radiant is developing a mobile microreactor, with target application scenarios including power supply for remote areas, data centers, defense uses, and other commercial and industrial sectors. Centrus believes these applications will form a potential market for domestic US HALEU supply.
