Shandong Proposes Nuclear Power Equipment Industry Revenue to Exceed 10 Billion Yuan by 2028

The Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Office of the Financial Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, the Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and five other departments recently jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of Shandong Province's New Energy Equipment Industry (2026-2028)." The document is dated September 3, 2026. The Plan proposes that by 2028, Shandong Province's new energy equipment industry revenue should exceed 470 billion yuan. In terms of nuclear power equipment, Shandong Province will seize the opportunity of Jiaodong Peninsula nuclear power base construction, use project development to drive industrial upgrading, and strengthen key supporting equipment such as main pipelines, steel containment vessels, and instrumentation and control equipment. According to the Plan, Shandong Province will support more units and products in entering the qualified supply lists for upstream and downstream of third-generation and fourth-generation advanced nuclear energy industrial chains, and encourage the incubation of advanced nuclear energy technology and equipment research achievements in Shandong Province; at the same time, support relevant market entities in participating in research and development of cutting-edge controllable nuclear fusion technologies, and seize future opportunities for nuclear energy equipment development.
