Hadron Energy Appoints Eric Williams as Executive Vice President of Engineering

Advanced nuclear technology company Hadron Energy announced on August 10 that Eric Williams will join the company as Executive Vice President of Engineering, effective August 31, 2026. Hadron Energy is currently developing the Halo micro modular reactor (MMR) based on pressurized water reactor technology.

Hadron Energy went public on Nasdaq in May 2026. The company stated that Eric Williams' addition will strengthen its engineering organization and support the advancement of Halo MMR from design and licensing to commercial deployment. According to company information, Hadron Energy has recently made progress in work related to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), including approval of its quality assurance program description and submission of major design criteria white papers. Additionally, the company has partnered with GSE Systems to develop simulators and has established cooperation with ConverDyn for uranium fuel supply and conversion.

Eric Williams brings approximately 30 years of experience in advanced reactor engineering management and project execution. Prior to joining Hadron Energy, he spent 12 years at TerraPower, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing engineering, nuclear fuel, regulatory affairs, supply chain, quality, and operations. During his tenure, TerraPower's Natrium reactor construction permit was approved by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Hadron Energy stated that this milestone represents a significant step in the deployment of advanced small modular reactors in the United States.

During his time at TerraPower, Eric Williams also served as Senior Vice President and Design Authority Lead for the Natrium Demonstration Project, responsible for engineering and testing on the 345 MW advanced small modular reactor project, including design, configuration management, technical decision-making, and project governance. He contributed to the submission of the construction permit application for the commercial advanced reactor and drove the establishment of design control procedures, design authority functions, and engineering decision-making processes.

Earlier in his career, Eric Williams participated in safety analysis and design work for the B&W mPower small modular reactor and worked at Framatome on nuclear safety, severe accident analysis, and materials engineering for operating reactors. He also has experience in the aerospace sector. Eric Williams holds an MBA from Lynchburg University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Under Hadron Energy's arrangement, Eric Williams, as Executive Vice President of Engineering, will oversee the overall management of the company's engineering organization, covering hardware, software, systems, products, manufacturing, testing and validation, quality, project management, and operations. He will also participate in engineering strategy and product execution, driving engineering standards, technology roadmaps, manufacturability optimization, cost control, and engineering team expansion.

Hadron Energy describes the Halo MMR as a 10 MW electric-class, factory-fabricated, transportable light water reactor designed to provide continuous, zero-emission baseload electricity and heat, with a multi-year refueling cycle. The company plans to deploy the product for data centers, industrial and heavy manufacturing facilities, remote communities, and grid stability applications.
