American Fusion's Fusion Platform Patent Applications Reach 100

American Fusion announced on August 24 that the total number of patent applications it has filed around its Texatron Fusion Engine platform has reached 100, including 17 newly filed U.S. patent applications. The company stated that these applications primarily cover the structural design, fuel injection, electromagnetic configuration, and system architecture of the Texatron platform.

According to the company's disclosure, the 17 newly filed applications were submitted between August 16 and 22, 2026, covering areas such as aluminum fusion confinement structures, clamshell and monobloc housings, hollow annular inner cavities, rifled inner wall geometries, electromagnetic field structures, helium-3 and deuterium fuel injection, coil arrangements, and symmetric half-shell structures. The company stated that these applications are intended to expand the intellectual property coverage of the Texatron platform across different structural configurations, manufacturing methods, and potential application scenarios.

American Fusion's Chief Legal Officer Michael G. Smith stated that intellectual property protection is an important foundation for the long-term development of technology companies. The company is currently building a multi-layered patent portfolio around the Texatron platform, with related work covering technical analysis, engineering reviews, drawing preparation, and claim drafting.

American Fusion's Executive Chairman Brent Nelson stated that the company is not merely developing a single fusion device, but rather aims to create a fusion technology platform encompassing different sizes, configurations, and application directions. He noted that test programs, regulatory progress, research team development, and patent applications together constitute the foundation the company needs to advance commercialization.

The company also cautioned that filing a patent application does not guarantee that the relevant patent will be granted, nor does it mean that the technology covered by the application has completed commercial validation. Each application remains subject to examination by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and must satisfy applicable legal and procedural requirements.

In addition to intellectual property developments, American Fusion also disclosed that it has filed a motion with the Alaska Superior Court seeking to vacate a historical default judgment entered against the company during its prior operations under the name Renewal Fuels Inc. The company stated that a Washington state court later determined in subsequent litigation that the historical acquisition involving Pacific Compliance Corporation was never completed. The motion remains pending before the Alaska court, and the outcome is uncertain.

American Fusion also stated that it plans to conduct a shareholder survey in the third quarter and has engaged AGORACOM Investor Relations to support its shareholder communications and digital investor engagement efforts. The company stated that this arrangement follows its review of investor relations strategies and feedback received from shareholders.

American Fusion is an advanced energy platform company focused on the development and commercialization of next-generation fusion energy technologies, and is advancing the development of its Texatron Fusion Engine aneutronic fusion platform. The company stated that the platform is designed for modular, infrastructure-scale deployment, with potential applications including industrial, commercial, defense, and grid-constrained scenarios.
