Zhejiang Jinqimen Nuclear Power Unit 1 Pressurizer Relief Tank Successfully Hoisted into Place

On August 30, the pressurizer relief tank, a major nuclear island equipment item of Unit 1 at Zhejiang Jinqimen Nuclear Power Plant, contracted by China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. (CNF), was successfully hoisted into place. The entire hoisting process was smooth and orderly, with overall safety and quality under control. This hoisting has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of main nuclear island equipment and the construction of the primary loop system.

The pressurizer relief tank is an important auxiliary equipment of the reactor coolant system in a nuclear power plant. Its main function is to collect and condense the high-temperature and high-pressure steam discharged from the pressurizer safety valves, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the reactor system. The relief tank hoisted this time is pre-installed equipment in the nuclear island. The main body of the equipment is heavy in weight and large in size, with limited hoisting workspace. After being hoisted into place, it needs to be placed in the nuclear island building for a long period, and subsequent construction will be constrained by space, making it necessary to introduce the equipment precisely within the civil construction window period.

To ensure the success of this hoisting in one attempt, the project team made scientific and coordinated arrangements, completing each phase of tasks in an orderly manner. The project department strictly implemented the policy of "Safety First, Quality First," organized multiple special discussions, and repeatedly simulated and rehearsed the hoisting path and positioning selection. Prerequisite conditions were reviewed item by item from the aspects of "personnel, machinery, materials, methods, and environment," with responsibilities assigned to each post, building a solid safety foundation from the source. Facing challenges such as heavy equipment weight, limited space, and high precision requirements, the project team precisely operated the large lifting machinery, completing lifting, slewing, luffing, and positioning in one smooth motion, achieving a one-time stable placement with extremely high alignment accuracy.

In the next step, CNF will continue to leverage refined management and digital empowerment as two key drivers, forging ahead courageously on the journey of building a "New Quality Hualong Demonstration Project" with high quality and high standards, sparing no effort to advance the construction of major national energy projects, and contributing the strength of CNF to achieving the "dual carbon" goals and safeguarding national energy security.
