Recently, people from various sectors gathered at the Port of Long Beach in southern California, USA, to discuss the application prospects of nuclear energy. The event was hosted by BlueCore Energy and aimed to present to potential investors, partners, and local government the company's plan to deploy small modular nuclear reactors at the Port of Long Beach.

Kofi Asante, founder and CEO of BlueCore Energy, provided a detailed introduction to the project's feasibility and safety during a one-hour symposium. He emphasized that the company is committed to advancing the project in a safe, pragmatic, and inclusive manner.

The Port of Long Beach is located in the city of Long Beach in southern California, USA, on the northern shore of San Pedro Bay along the Pacific Ocean. The event attracted approximately 150 guests. In addition to the symposium, a tour of the nuclear reactor barge docked at the pier was also arranged. Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson and Port of Long Beach CEO Noel Hacegaba also attended the event and joined Asante in discussing various aspects of the project.

The project aims to use small modular nuclear reactors to provide power for the Port of Long Beach's operations and ships, and is a strategic component of the Port of Long Beach's goal of achieving "zero emissions." Cooperation with the U.S. Maritime Administration has provided important support for the smooth implementation of the project.

In addition to executives from BlueCore Energy, the symposium also invited Austin Clements and Ajay Relan, two partners from Slauson & Co., as well as representatives from Karman Ventures, who shared their views on the project from the perspectives of investment, economic development, and social responsibility.

On site, a representative from Karman Ventures stated that now is the time to promote clean energy. The event also included a tour of the nuclear reactor barge, giving attendees a more intuitive understanding of the project's specific implementation plan. The event not only helped BlueCore Energy seek funding and cooperation opportunities, but also laid the foundation for the Port of Long Beach to build a green port.

By introducing nuclear energy technology, the Port of Long Beach is expected to find a balance between environmental protection and economic development, providing a referenceable experience for other ports.
