Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Establishing a Nuclear Power Plant Construction Joint Venture and Localized Production of Multiple Core Supporting Materials

At a dedicated industry matchmaking seminar held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Uzbekistan Atomic Energy Development Agency and Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, along with experts from leading industrial enterprises of both Uzbekistan and Russia, gathered to conduct in-depth consultations on establishing a joint venture in Uzbekistan to advance the comprehensive national nuclear power plant development project.

The meeting focused on expanding the participation share of Uzbekistan's domestic industrial enterprises throughout the entire nuclear power plant construction process and deepening bilateral industrial chain and engineering collaboration. Participants conducted systematic deliberations on introducing advanced engineering technologies into modern nuclear power plant construction systems, optimizing construction methods, and establishing localized manufacturing bases in Uzbekistan for key engineering materials and specialized equipment.

In terms of supply chain support, enterprises from Uzbekistan and Russia focused on discussing joint venture cooperation potential in multiple core equipment areas, specifically covering automated control and radiation monitoring systems, specialized ventilation and gas purification equipment, high-strength polymer pipes, specialized thermal insulation materials, and high-performance special chemical additives for nuclear power engineering. The meeting emphasized that establishing joint ventures and introducing advanced, mature industrial technologies to promote localized independent production of the above key materials will effectively consolidate the foundation of Uzbekistan's nuclear energy engineering supply chain.
