IAEA Urges Countries to Turn Nuclear Energy Support into Action
Recently, Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), issued a call at the opening ceremony of the International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy held in Incheon, South Korea, urging governments to translate the current growing policy and public support for nuclear energy into concrete, implemented projects to meet surging electricity demand and strengthen energy security and economic efficiency.

It is reported that this three-day international conference brought together ministers, senior government officials, and nuclear industry experts from multiple countries to jointly discuss next-step action strategies for expanding global nuclear power deployment. In his address, Grossi (Rafael Mariano Grossi) explicitly emphasized that "now is the time to make substantive progress in advancing nuclear power development."
Grossi (Rafael Mariano Grossi) pointed out that since the last ministerial conference held in Washington four years ago, nuclear energy has gained increasing favor and support from regional governments, financial institutions, and industrial customers worldwide. Decision-makers in various countries are increasingly focusing on when nuclear energy can enter the power system at scale to support the electrification transition of society and baseload power security.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that as global demand for zero-carbon energy increases, translating policy declarations into actual project investment and financing, supply chain development, and regulatory approval has become the core task in driving the large-scale revival of the global nuclear power industry.
