From July 12 to 17, 2026, a regional training program titled "Graded Clinical Skills Training on Integrated Nuclear Medicine Theranostics," hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for member states of the Asian Regional Cooperative Council for Nuclear Medicine (ARASIA), was held in Amman, Jordan. More than 30 nuclear medicine professionals from over ten countries—including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan—participated in the training.

Professor Shi Hongcheng, President-Elect of the Chinese Society of Nuclear Medicine, served as one of the two specially invited international experts for the program. He delivered six lectures and conducted in-depth clinical case analyses on designated topics, including "Building a High-Volume Theranostics Department: The Zhongshan Hospital Experience," "Multimodal Imaging in Theranostic Decision-Making: SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and PET/MRI — When to Use What," and "Total-Body PET/CT: A Gamechanger for Theranostics in the Asia Pacific Context." The training emphasized interactive knowledge sharing, deepened industry consensus through Q&A sessions, and fostered international mutual trust; it not only facilitated the precise transfer of technical expertise but also cultivated deep friendships with international peers.

In recent years, Professor Shi has been invited to deliver over 30 keynote presentations at top international academic conferences—such as the continuing education programs of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) annual meeting and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) annual congress—as well as at renowned international universities. Leading his team at the forefront of the discipline, he has published nearly 100 high-quality academic papers and earned widespread recognition from the international community. Under his leadership, the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, has consistently driven high-quality disciplinary development through standardized clinical practices and established a sustainable system for integrated nuclear medicine theranostics. The department hosts dozens of international visiting delegations annually and sees a steadily increasing number of international trainees and visiting scholars, continuously propelling Chinese nuclear medicine onto the global stage.
