CNNC Qintong Innovatively Builds a Digital-Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Management System for Its Isotope Base
Recently, Chinatom Qinshan Isotope Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CNNC Qintong"), centering on the isotope production base construction project, successfully built a digital-intelligent O&M management system with the Integrated Intelligent Production Information Management Platform (IMS) as its core. By empowering full-lifecycle equipment control and intelligent decision-making, the system effectively addresses O&M management pain points in nuclear technology application scenarios with high safety requirements and high complexity.

It is understood that the system, with the Integrated Intelligent Production Information Management Platform (IMS) as its management hub, has achieved unified coding and labeling of 6,799 pieces of equipment across the entire plant and "one file per unit" full-lifecycle traceability. By deeply linking equipment ledgers with maintenance plans, repair work orders and spare parts management, CNNC Qintong has not only driven the upgrade of its maintenance model toward condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, but also achieved significant cost reduction, efficiency improvement and energy consumption optimization through HVAC variable-frequency renovation and self-developed automatic calibration platforms.
In terms of digital work control and security early warning, CNNC Qintong has integrated the entire business process of work applications, approval permits and on-site execution into the IMS system for online processing, forming a closed-loop management mechanism embedded with risk control requirements. Meanwhile, relying on 5G private networks, artificial intelligence and big data technologies, the company has connected security and production monitoring videos to a unified platform, deployed fire identification and high-risk area behavior recognition algorithms, and built an intelligent tiered early warning system featuring "proactive identification—tiered alarming—task dispatch—algorithm optimization."
For on-site inspections and production decision-making, CNNC Qintong has built a digital inspection grid based on NFC check-in and high-precision map technologies, and, combined with smart wristbands and electronic fences, achieved "human—machine—environment" multi-source collaborative sensing and tiered control of high-risk areas. In addition, the company has established an intelligent auxiliary decision-making system for the cobalt-60 production line, which connects in real time to distributed control system (DCS) and electrical monitoring data, transforms expert experience into failure logic judgment rules, and enables comprehensive assessment and forward-looking maintenance of operating conditions from individual equipment to the entire production line.
The successful practice of CNNC Qintong's digital-intelligent O&M management system has realized the transformation of equipment management from scattered ledgers to one file per unit, maintenance and repair from offline circulation to closed-loop work orders, on-site risks from manual discovery to intelligent early warning, and production decision-making from experience-based judgment to collaborative decision-making. This innovative model verifies the applicability of digital technologies in the management of high-risk nuclear facilities and provides a replicable and promotable management paradigm for the high-quality development and intelligent transformation of China's nuclear technology application industry.
