CNNC Hosts the 6th Radiopharmaceutical and Radionuclide Production Worker Vocational Skills Competition, Leveraging Shared Laboratories to Deepen Skilled Talent Cultivation
The 2026 6th CNNC Radiopharmaceutical and Radionuclide Production Worker Vocational Skills Competition, themed "Forging Craftsmanship with Nuclear Power, Winning the Future with Skills," was successfully held from October 20 to 24 at the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The competition was hosted by CNNC and organized by China Isotope & Radiation Corporation, and is a key practical measure for CNNC and the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center to deepen strategic coordination and advance the construction of shared laboratories.

The two sides closely focused on research directions including radiation environmental monitoring, nuclide analysis, and precise sample testing, promoting the co-construction and sharing of instruments and equipment, reference materials, methodology systems, and data platforms. A total of 16 units and 30 technical backbone personnel from the nuclear industry radiopharmaceutical field participated in the competition. The competition schedule was strictly designed in accordance with nuclear-specific occupational skill standards, adopting a dual-track assessment model of "theoretical examination plus practical competition," which not only comprehensively assessed core operational skills but also incorporated new processes and new specifications adapted to industrial upgrading. With professional equipment support and rigorous oversight throughout provided by the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, a total of 6 first, second, and third prizes and 9 excellence awards were ultimately granted.
In response to the urgent demand for high-quality skilled talent in the radiopharmaceutical industry, Cheng Jianxiu, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, pointed out that competitions are an important vehicle for testing practical capabilities and inspiring employees' spirit of dedicated research and breakthrough. The Center will continue to leverage its advantages in regulatory technical support and high-level experimental platforms to deepen industry collaboration. Fan Guomin, Deputy General Manager of China Isotope & Radiation Corporation, emphasized in his summary that radiopharmaceutical production is directly related to the bottom line of quality and safety, and skilled personnel must benchmark against excellence performance requirements and strictly implement the highest national and nuclear-related process standards; subsequently, China Isotope & Radiation Corporation will gradually expand the scope of competitions to diverse work types such as radioactive sources, non-destructive testing, and instrument maintenance, accelerating the cultivation of a high-quality echelon of nuclear technology application craftsmen with both solid theoretical foundations and precise practical skills.
