CNNC Hosts the 6th Radiopharmaceutical and Radionuclide Production Worker Vocational Skills Competition, Leveraging Shared Laboratories to Deepen Skilled Talent Cultivation

The 2026 6th CNNC Radiopharmaceutical and Radionuclide Production Worker Vocational Skills Competition, themed "Forging Craftsmanship with Nuclear Power, Winning the Future with Skills," was successfully held from October 20 to 24 at the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The competition was hosted by CNNC and organized by China Isotope & Radiation Corporation, and is a key practical measure for CNNC and the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center to deepen strategic coordination and advance the construction of shared laboratories. The two sides closely focused on research directions including radiation environmental monitoring, nuclide analysis, and precise sample testing, promoting the co-construction and sharing of instruments and equipment, reference materials, methodology systems, and data platforms. A total of 16 units and 3...

Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Conducts Technical Exchange at Beishan Underground Laboratory

Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Conducts Technical Exchange at Beishan Underground Laboratory

To align with the key engineering tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan for Building a Beautiful China, the responsible officials of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center) recently led a team to the Beishan Underground Laboratory for technical exchange. The 15th Five-Year Plan for Building a Beautiful China explicitly proposes the construction of a safety assessment and verification platform for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste. During the exchange, personnel from the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center went deep into the Beishan Underground Laboratory site, conducting on-site inspections of underground tunnels, disposal holes, surrounding rock excavation interfaces, etc., and carried out in-depth technical exchanges with personnel from the Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology. The two sides focused on the layout of special tests for safety review, software development and testing, conceptual design review...

Director of the Division of Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety, Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, IAEA, Van den Howe, Visits the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment

On September 8, 2026, Ms. Hildegard Van den Howe, Director of the Division of Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety, Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the Center). Chai Guohan, Director of the Center, and heads of relevant departments participated in the exchange activities. At present, cooperation between the Center and the IAEA is continuously deepening. Since being designated by the IAEA in May 2023 as the world's first Collaborating Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, the Center has, relying on this platform, successfully hosted high-level activities such as the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Leadership Workshop, the ANSN Regional Workshop, and multiple international training sessions, with the platform's clustering and radiation effects becoming increasingly prominent. The Center has always been a trusted partner of the IAEA.

The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Successfully Held a Technical Seminar on Performance Testing of Iodine Adsorbers in Nuclear Facilities

Recently, the technical seminar on performance testing of iodine adsorbers in nuclear facilities, hosted by the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") and organized by the Key Laboratory of Radioactive Gas Purification Technology of CNNC, was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. Representatives from domestic nuclear facility operation, design, testing and inspection organizations, as well as relevant personnel from the Center's Reactor Department, Event Assessment Department, and General Operations Department attended the meeting. The seminar focused on core topics such as periodic testing methods for iodine adsorbers in ventilation systems of nuclear facilities, acceptance criteria, and test cycle requirements under long-term operation. Participants conducted in-depth exchanges on the advantages and disadvantages of radioactive versus non-radioactive test methods for iodine adsorber adsorption efficiency, 2-inch...
