CGN Environmental Protection Launches Its First Integrated Project Combining CFS System O&M with Marine Emergency Biological Cleanup

Recently, CGN Environmental Protection officially signed a framework contract with CGN Lufeng Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lufeng Nuclear Power") to undertake an integrated service project covering the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the CFS (Circulating Water Pre-filtration System) and emergency marine biological cleanup. This marks CGN Environmental Protection's formal entry into the niche sector of nuclear power environmental services and serves as a pilot initiative to comprehensively expand its nuclear power cold-source safety assurance business across the CGN Group.

Under the contract, CGN Environmental Protection will assume full responsibility for the O&M of cold-source facilities and on-site marine biological cleanup for Lufeng Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6, with a service term of two years. The project requires the service team to possess a rapid response capability—mobilizing within two hours—to handle emergencies such as marine biological intrusions, oil spills, and red tides. Additionally, the company will assist with tasks including engineering construction, handover for production, the establishment of documentation systems, and resource preparation.

Leveraging robust on-site operational capabilities and extensive project management experience, CGN Environmental Protection has successfully entered the critical domain of nuclear power cold-source safety assurance. "This is our first implemented project in the field of nuclear power cold-source services, holding significant value as a pilot and demonstration case. We will use this project as a benchmark, fully utilizing our professional strengths in nuclear environmental protection to expand similar services to other nuclear power plants within the Group, aiming to fully roll out this integrated service model—combining CFS system O&M and emergency marine biological cleanup—within two to three years," stated the project manager.
