First Integrated Hoisting of Nuclear Island Steel Liner Module 5 with Attached Electrical and Instrumentation Cable Tray System within CGN
At 15:30 on August 10, 2026, with the successful positioning of Steel Liner Module 5 in the reactor building of Unit 3, the attached E&I cable tray system was simultaneously placed, marking the successful completion of the first "Five-ization" installation project for Module 5 attached E&I cable trays within CGN.

Traditional nuclear power Module 5 construction adopts a serial mode of "structure first, installation second, commissioning last." The E&I construction for Module 5 of Unit 3 at Taipingling Phase II innovatively adopted an integrated scheme of "prefabrication-installation-integral hoisting." E&I construction was advanced to the module assembly stage, changing the traditional on-site dispersed work method. Through prefabrication of steel materials in workshops, delivery to the site for welding and installation, a large amount of high-altitude, cross-operational, and hot-work activities were converted into low-risk ground operations, effectively mitigating risks of falls from height, fire and explosion, and object strikes, significantly reducing construction safety risks and enhancing intrinsic safety. All cable tray supports were prefabricated in workshops, requiring only a small number of on-site personnel for tray connection and support welding, while sharing civil scaffolding to avoid repeated erection and dismantling. On-site E&I workdays were reduced from the planned 210 man-days to 70 man-days, saving labor costs of RMB 73,920, a reduction of 66.7%, substantially lowering labor expenses. This scheme, applied for the first time within CGN, has established standardized installation work procedures and acceptance specifications, is suitable for large-scale modular construction, and can be directly transferred and promoted in subsequent "Hualong" projects. It is particularly applicable to construction areas with limited space and high safety risks, delivering significant safety and economic benefits.
The project team will continue to strive for excellence, continuously strengthening the concepts of "systematic excellence, comprehensive excellence, and integrated excellence," persistently maintaining a goal- and problem-oriented approach, and intensifying the implementation of "Five-ization" projects in the engineering construction field, creating more valuable and replicable experience for the batch construction of CGN's "Hualong One" reactors.
