On September 14, the “Hualong One Independent Innovation Journey” themed interview event was held in Lüsigang, Qidong, Jiangsu.

“Hualong One” is China's third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology with fully independent intellectual property rights. It is known as the “national calling card” of nuclear power and a ‌major national heavy equipment‌, marking that China's nuclear power technology has entered the world's first tier. As one of the important industrial platforms of CNNC for laying out intelligent manufacturing and cultivating new quality productive forces, the “Heneng Intelligent Manufacturing” Qidong Intelligent Manufacturing Base carries the important mission of transforming the nuclear industry's cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities into the field of high-end civil equipment.

The base covers an area of approximately 311 mu, with plans to build 7 core production lines, supported by intelligent unmanned warehousing, and can provide full-process services including intelligent flaw detection, anti-corrosion treatment, and pickling. The base is scheduled to be fully completed and put into operation by the end of 2026, with a production capacity that can simultaneously meet the nuclear power pipeline prefabrication needs of 6 Hualong One units, providing solid intelligent manufacturing support for the batch construction of Hualong One.

During the event, the media group visited the operation of the intelligent production lines at the Qidong Intelligent Manufacturing Base up close. From the intelligent production of a single pipe to the digital and intelligent management and control of the entire production line, everyone intuitively felt the profound changes taking place in nuclear power construction.

Among them, the intelligent non-destructive testing and evaluation technology, which is the technology that gives welds a “deep physical examination,” attracted attention. This technology consists of a multi-robot collaborative operation system composed of radiographic testing operation robots, film handling robots, and image quality indicator operation robots, automatically completing film retrieval and delivery, precise focusing, and testing operations, and through spatial accessibility assessment and segmented testing strategies, achieving efficient and precise non-destructive testing of complex welds. In short, without damaging the pipeline, the internal quality of the weld can still be clearly seen.

In addition, multiple core technological highlights, such as full-process identification tracking and intelligent recognition technology, automatic spray painting, drying, and anti-corrosion treatment technology, and multi-robot collaborative adaptive learning control technology, can also achieve effects such as giving each pipe an “ID card,” putting an “anti-corrosion coat” on pipes, and enabling multiple robots to “fight collaboratively,” becoming a portrayal of new quality productive forces empowering independent innovation in nuclear power.
