Mao Yawei, General Manager of China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation, Leads a Delegation to Visit Harbin Engineering University

On July 28, a three-member delegation led by Mao Yawei, General Manager of China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). Chen Hailong, Assistant President of HEU, attended the meeting. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on deepening international talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation.

Chen Hailong extended a warm welcome to Mao Yawei and his delegation. He stated that HEU has been continuously and thoroughly implementing the important speech and directives delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to the university, closely aligning with the national nuclear industry development needs, and advancing education, science and technology, and talent development in an integrated manner. China Zhongyuan and HEU have a solid foundation for cooperation and broad prospects, having already achieved fruitful results in areas such as joint cultivation of international students, international talent training, and platform resource sharing. He expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to further broaden the scope of university-enterprise cooperation, deepen the level of collaboration, and continuously promote joint talent development, collaborative scientific research, and shared platform construction, facilitating the precise alignment and integration of the talent chain with the industrial chain, and jointly contributing greater strength to the "going global" of China's nuclear power technology and the advancement of high-level international cooperation.

Mao Yawei stated that the nuclear industry is currently at a critical strategic opportunity period. As the chain leader of the nuclear energy "going global" industrial chain and a pioneer in international operations, China Zhongyuan shoulders the important mission of leading China's nuclear energy to the world. HEU has profound accumulation and distinctive characteristics in the fields of "Marine, Naval, Nuclear, and Ocean Engineering," which are highly aligned with China Zhongyuan's business directions. He expressed the hope to deepen university-enterprise cooperation in an all-round manner, leverage HEU's comprehensive multidisciplinary advantages to jointly cultivate world-class talents, collaborate on technological breakthroughs, and provide solid talent support and technical assurance for the export of national nuclear power technology.

Relevant heads from the Research Institute of Science and Technology, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the College of Nuclear Science and Technology, the School of Foreign Languages, and the International Cooperative Education College attended the meeting.

After the meeting, General Manager Mao Yawei delivered the "Last Lecture" titled "Nuclear Power Landscape of China" to 32 faculty members and students from King Abdulaziz University of Saudi Arabia participating in the international summer training program at the university, held in the multi-functional hall on the 5th floor of Building 31. The lecture systematically elaborated on China's nuclear energy "Three-Step" strategy, the complete nuclear fuel cycle industrial chain, and comprehensive nuclear energy utilization, and combined with China Zhongyuan's practical experience in constructing overseas "Hualong One" projects, provided an in-depth analysis of China's strategic layout for nuclear energy "going global," international cooperation opportunities, and future market challenges. During the interactive session, trainees actively raised questions on hot topics such as the future development of nuclear energy and the construction of localized supply chains, and the on-site exchanges were pragmatic, efficient, and enthusiastic.

Subsequently, General Manager Mao Yawei, together with Hao Chen, Party Secretary of the College of Nuclear Science and Technology, Ding Xuezhong, Dean of the International Cooperative Education College, and Shen Si, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, jointly presented completion certificates and commemorative gifts to all Saudi trainees.
