CNNC & CIR Co-sponsors Regional Nuclear Medicine Department Development Training Program (Ganzhou Session) and Ganzhou Cancer Hospital High-Quality Nuclear Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Project Launched Simultaneously

Recently, the "Regional Nuclear Medicine Department Development Training Program (Ganzhou Session)" and the "Ganzhou Cancer Hospital High-Quality Nuclear Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Project" were launched simultaneously at Ganzhou Cancer Hospital. An expert panel from the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, along with representatives from CNNC & CIR and Atom High-Tech, visited the hospital for research and exchange. More than 200 medical staff from medical institutions at various levels across Jiangxi Province attended the event.

The launch ceremony was moderated by Yang Chuansheng, Director of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Ganzhou Cancer Hospital. Fu Wei, Deputy Director of the Ganzhou Municipal Health Commission; Wang Jing, Chair of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; and Huang Xingwei, Party Secretary of Ganzhou Cancer Hospital, attended and delivered speeches. Wang Jing stated that nuclear medicine plays a vital supporting role in the precise diagnosis and treatment of major diseases such as cancer, and that promoting the standardized development of regional nuclear medicine at the city and county levels is conducive to channeling high-quality medical resources to the grassroots and enhancing primary healthcare service capabilities.

Subsequently, Xu Baixuan, Vice Chair of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Chair of the Nuclear Medicine Department Development Working Committee, introduced the Regional Nuclear Medicine Department Development Training Program. In the presence of the attending guests, the two construction projects were officially launched.

The academic exchange session focused on clinical applications of nuclear medicine, grassroots department development, and translation of new technologies. Wang Jing delivered a report titled "Outlook on Clinical Application Prospects of Nuclear Medicine," analyzing the development directions of nuclear medicine in the full-cycle diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Huo Li focused on the clinical application and scientific research translation of single-photon imaging. Chen Zhijun, taking into account the realities of Ganzhou as an old revolutionary base area and its cancer prevention and treatment efforts, explained the application of nuclear medicine technology in the treatment of malignant tumors via iodine-125 (125I) seed implantation. Xu Hao introduced the clinical implementation pathways of new integrated diagnosis-and-treatment technologies in nuclear medicine. Pang Hua delivered a case-based lecture on the application progress of PET/CT in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary tumors.

During the roundtable forum, Huang Xingwei, Party Secretary of Ganzhou Cancer Hospital; Xu Dechang, President of the hospital; and experts including Xu Baixuan, Huo Li, Chen Zhijun, and Han Xingmin discussed how grassroots hospitals can promote nuclear medicine. The discussion focused on topics such as standardized department construction, talent team development, technology dissemination, and regional resource coordination. The forum was moderated by Liu Xingdang from Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University.

After the meeting, the expert panel and attending representatives visited the Nuclear Medicine Department of Ganzhou Cancer Hospital on site. The hospital stated that with the implementation of the two projects, it will further enhance its nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment capabilities and provide more precise and efficient nuclear medicine services to patients in the southern Ganzhou region.
