DeVry University and Pulse Radiology Institute Partner to Launch Degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology

DeVry University and Pulse Radiology Institute (Pulse Radiology Institute) recently announced a partnership to jointly launch a new associate degree specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology.

This degree program innovatively combines DeVry University's flexible and convenient online theoretical courses with Pulse Radiology Institute's mature clinical training model and its network of college and healthcare partners across the United States.

The core purpose of launching this hybrid training program is to address the staffing shortage crisis currently facing the healthcare industry. According to data published by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the current vacancy rate for MRI technologists is as high as 17.4%, approaching an all-time high.

To ensure that students can apply what they learn and gain sufficient hands-on experience, both parties have explicitly stipulated that students will only be formally admitted after successfully securing a clinical internship position.

In terms of specific teaching arrangements, enrolled students will focus on online theoretical courses during the first two semesters, and then formally transition to partner healthcare institutions in the third semester to carry out hands-on offline clinical practical training.

Currently, this cooperative education program is in the qualification review stage and still requires approval from relevant regulatory authorities, educational institutions, and accrediting organizations, with related accreditation procedures also being advanced in parallel.
