JINR delegation participates in the 51st Vietnam Conference on Theoretical Physics

From August 3 to 6, the 51st Vietnam Conference on Theoretical Physics (VCTP-51) was held in Nha Trang, Vietnam. A delegation of researchers from the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and the Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research attended the conference, engaging in exchanges with more than 170 scholars from Vietnam, Germany, India, China, Pakistan, Russia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan, and other countries and regions.

The conference topics covered multiple frontier directions in theoretical physics, including high-energy physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, and cosmology, as well as interdisciplinary research areas such as physics beyond the Standard Model, molecular physics, quantum optics and quantum information, biomaterials, and biomolecules. The broad agenda reflected the increasingly close connections between theoretical physics research and emerging technologies, life sciences, and information science.

Researchers from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research delivered a total of 10 presentations in plenary sessions and parallel sessions, covering the main research directions of the conference. Among them, Dmitry Kazakov, Director of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Viktor Yushankhai, Chief Researcher at the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics; and Lyudmila Sulakshina, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Information Technologies, spoke as invited speakers, showcasing the Institute's research progress in relevant fields.

In addition, several researchers from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research presented their results in parallel sessions, including Alexander Gusev, Chief Researcher at the Laboratory of Information Technologies; Anton Boushev, Chief Researcher at the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics; Georgy Karagov, Senior Researcher; Adila Afzal, Researcher; Vu Dong Truong, Junior Researcher; as well as trainee researchers Vladislav Filippov and Nikita Moiseev. The delegation's concentrated participation reflected the Institute's comprehensive strength in theoretical research, computational methods, and interdisciplinary applications.

VCTP-51 was organized by the Institute of Physics of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, held with the support of the Vietnam Theoretical Physics Society, and also supported by the International Centre for Physics under the Institute and the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics in Pohang, South Korea. The Vietnam Conference on Theoretical Physics has been held annually since 1976, known as the National Conference on Theoretical Physics before 2019, and has now developed into an important international exchange platform for the theoretical physics community, aiming to promote academic cooperation and advance research and education in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
