"Beita Tianyuan Industry-Academia-Research Innovation Demonstration Base" Inaugurated at the College of Nuclear Science and Technology, Harbin Engineering University
On August 19, Professor Li Ruo, Deputy Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University and Chief Scientist of Beita Zhenhuan, Liao Hanqing, General Manager of Beita Zhenhuan, and Yao Ling, Deputy General Manager of Kylin Software Co., Ltd., visited the College. Dean Tan Sichao, Cong Jianwei, Director of the University's Informatization Office, and Professor Shen Jihong from the School of Mathematical Sciences attended the meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Dean Li Lei. All parties held discussions on the in-depth application of domestic scientific computing software in the nuclear energy field, adaptation of domestic operating systems, interdisciplinary integration of mathematics and nuclear science, and collaborative talent cultivation, and jointly inaugurated the "Beita Tianyuan Industry-Academia-Research Innovation Demonstration Base."

During the discussion, the participants conducted in-depth exploration of the reliance of nuclear energy systems on solving problems such as complex multi-physics field coupling, multi-scale computation, and multi-probabilistic safety analysis, as well as the critical role of computational mathematics methods and large-scale numerical simulation in these areas. They further clarified the points of integration between the nuclear discipline and the mathematics discipline, and reached cooperation consensus on directions including algorithm development, software R&D and adaptation, joint platform construction, and collaborative talent cultivation.

Taking the inauguration of this demonstration base as an opportunity, all parties will leverage the College's practical application scenarios and verification conditions in nuclear energy engineering, as well as its think-tank support in strategic research and scientific and technological consulting in nuclear energy and its interdisciplinary fields. Combined with the research expertise in computational mathematics of the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University, the practical experience of Beita Zhenhuan in the R&D and industrialization of domestic scientific computing software, and the technical accumulation and adaptation capabilities of Kylin Software in the field of domestic operating systems, a long-term multi-party collaborative mechanism will be established. This will advance the adaptation verification and iterative optimization of domestic scientific computing software in the nuclear energy field, and jointly cultivate interdisciplinary talents in nuclear energy who possess strategic thinking, engineering awareness, mathematical literacy, and software capabilities.
