Rosatom Proposes to Offer India Large-Capacity Nuclear Power and SMR Solutions

On September 10, the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (Rosatom) stated that it is ready to provide India with a range of nuclear energy solutions, covering large-capacity nuclear power units and small modular reactors.

Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General and Director of the Development and International Business Department of Rosatom, said during the India Industrial Development Forum (Innoprom.India) held in New Delhi that, considering the scale of relevant projects in India, Rosatom can provide partners with modern nuclear energy solutions, including both large nuclear power plants and small nuclear power plant technology routes.

Komarov said during a panel discussion that Russia-India cooperation is not limited to the nuclear energy sector, but also extends to areas such as nuclear medicine, additive manufacturing technologies, composite materials, and logistics. He stated that relevant Russian technologies can help support India in enhancing its technological self-reliance.
