Drone Attack on Cooling Tower at Russia's Kursk Nuclear Power Plant

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on Friday that it has confirmed a drone attack on a cooling tower at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in western Russia. The incident occurred on September 18, when the reactor was operating, but no fire broke out and the operational status was unaffected.

Rosatom, Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, stated in a statement that the attack caused “minor damage” to the plant's Reactor No. 1, but operations were not affected.
