The 5th National Nuclear Energy System Welding Vocational Skills Competition Was Successfully Held
Recently, the 5th National Nuclear Energy System Welding Vocational Skills Competition was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The event was guided by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (National Nuclear Safety Administration), hosted by the China Nuclear Energy Association and the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, organized by China National Nuclear Corporation, and co-organized by China Nuclear Industry Construction Co., Ltd. and China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co., Ltd.

A total of 129 contestants from 32 key units across the national nuclear energy industry competed on the same stage. After four days of intense competition, Zhang Chuangye from China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Co., Ltd., and Li Wenjie and Zhou Wei from China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co., Ltd. won first prize in the individual awards; the teams from China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., and PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd. won the team champion, runner-up, and third place, respectively.
It is understood that this competition closely followed the welding characteristics of civil nuclear equipment and actual site conditions, and featured one national-level general competition event and three industry-level competition events. The competition events not only covered classic welding scenarios in the nuclear industry but also proactively aligned with the development trends of welding automation and intelligentization, achieving a joint showcase of traditional craftsmanship and new technology applications on the same stage.
This competition comprehensively tested the theoretical foundation and practical skills of nuclear-grade welding personnel in material selection, welding processes, equipment operation, and quality control. The practical-combat-oriented design of the competition content represents the high level of welding skills in China's nuclear industry and is of great significance for strengthening the construction of the nuclear-grade welding talent team, improving the quality of nuclear safety equipment, and safeguarding the high-quality construction of nuclear power projects.
