Faculty and Students from King Abdulaziz University Visit CNECC Langfang Base

On August 12, 2026, a delegation of faculty and students from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia visited the CNECC Langfang R&D Base for an on-site tour and academic exchange. Yuan Yidan, Chief Expert of the company, received the visiting delegation. This event promoted talent exchange between China and Saudi Arabia in the nuclear energy sector, further deepened mutual connectivity in areas such as nuclear energy technology R&D, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation, and contributed to win-win international cooperation in nuclear energy.

During the exchange, technical experts at the base warmly received the Saudi delegation and provided detailed introductions to CNECC's development achievements and core strengths in nuclear power engineering design, advanced nuclear energy technology R&D, nuclear safety system development, and the implementation of overseas nuclear power projects. The delegation visited a number of world-leading core research facilities open to the international community, including the containment structural performance test platform "Xuanwu," the containment thermal-hydraulic comprehensive test facility "Pangu," the severe accident research platform "Zhurong," and the containment and safety system integrated test rig "Kunpeng." During the tour, the Saudi faculty and students engaged in in-depth discussions with the researchers on the experimental work. The on-site exchange was vibrant, pragmatic, and efficient.

The research facilities at the CNECC Langfang R&D Base serve as important platforms supporting the iterative upgrading and safety validation of China's self-developed Generation III nuclear power technologies such as "Hualong One." Many of these facilities are open to the world, making the base a key window for China to showcase its nuclear energy technology innovation capabilities and conduct international scientific research cooperation. This visit not only reflects the university's high recognition of China's achievements in nuclear energy technology development, but also represents a vivid practice of China-Saudi Arabia cooperation in nuclear energy education and research. It established an efficient international exchange platform and fully demonstrated CNECC's open, inclusive, and win-win philosophy of international development.
