CA01 Module of Unit 1 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Position in the Nuclear Island

CA01 Module of Unit 1 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Position in the Nuclear Island

On August 29, the CA01 module of Unit 1 at the Bailong Nuclear Power Plant of SPIC Guangxi Nuclear Power was precisely positioned, marking a new phase of parallel civil construction and installation in the nuclear island. ▲On August 29, the hoisting operation of the CA01 module of Unit 1 at the Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant of SPIC was proceeding in an orderly manner. The CA01 module is located in the reactor building of the nuclear island and serves as the installation room for main equipment such as the reactor pressure vessel, steam generators, and pressurizer. The module is T-shaped in overall form, with external dimensions of 28 meters in length, 29 meters in width, and 24 meters in height. It consists of 47 sub-modules, with a total lifting weight of approximately 1,167 tons, making it the largest and heaviest structural module in the nuclear island. The hoisting operation commenced at 8:07 a.m. and, after a series of maneuvers including lifting, hovering, slewing, lowering, and adjustment, was successfully positioned at 12:58 p.m., with the entire process being safe, controllable, stable, and orderly.

Steel Containment Vessel Ring 1 of Unit 1 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Place

Steel Containment Vessel Ring 1 of Unit 1 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Hoisted into Place

At 11:38 on August 16, after 4 hours and 01 minutes of continuous and stable operation, the steel containment vessel ring 1 (CV1R) of the nuclear island of Unit 1 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant was successfully hoisted into place. This hoisting marks another successful installation of a key module following the CVBH and CA20 modules for Unit 1 of Bailong Nuclear Power Plant, signifying a critical breakthrough in the construction of the main structure of the nuclear island of Unit 1. The steel containment vessel consists of five major modules: the bottom head, the intermediate cylindrical shell (rings 1 to 3), and the top head, serving as the third physical safety barrier of the reactor. The CV1R hoisted this time is the core component with the largest volume and heaviest weight among the five major components of the steel containment vessel, measuring approximately 15.5 meters in height and up to 39.6 meters in maximum inner diameter, integrating equipment...

First Concrete Pour (FCD) Successfully Completed for the Conventional Island of Unit 2 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant

First Concrete Pour (FCD) Successfully Completed for the Conventional Island of Unit 2 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant

At 10:06 on August 9, after 38 hours and 46 minutes of continuous effort, the First Concrete Pour (FCD) for the conventional island of Unit 2 at the SPIC Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed, marking the full commencement of the main construction phase for the conventional island. The basement floor slab of the conventional island of Unit 2 adopts an integral raft foundation, divided into 9 construction zones using the sequence method. This concrete pour covered Zone 1, starting at 19:20 on August 7, with a cumulative pour of 1,732 cubic meters of concrete, conducted safely and orderly throughout the process. Since July, Typhoon Maysak directly struck Fangchenggang, bringing successive storms, followed by days of high temperatures at the Bailong nuclear site, posing significant challenges to on-site construction. In response...
