First Concrete Pour (FCD) Successfully Completed for the Conventional Island of Unit 2 at Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant
At 10:06 on August 9, after 38 hours and 46 minutes of continuous effort, the First Concrete Pour (FCD) for the conventional island of Unit 2 at the SPIC Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed, marking the full commencement of the main construction phase for the conventional island.

The basement floor slab of the conventional island of Unit 2 adopts an integral raft foundation, divided into 9 construction zones using the sequence method. This concrete pour covered Zone 1, starting at 19:20 on August 7, with a cumulative pour of 1,732 cubic meters of concrete, conducted safely and orderly throughout the process.
Since July, Typhoon "Maysak" directly struck Fangchenggang, bringing successive storms, followed by days of high temperatures at the Bailong nuclear site, posing significant challenges to on-site construction. Facing the complex and harsh construction environment, the Party Committee of SPIC Guangxi Nuclear Power coordinated planning and made meticulous arrangements, collaborating with the general contractor Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute and the construction contractor China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. to respond calmly. A party member vanguard team was established to develop high-standard construction and management plans, systematically optimize construction logic, coordinate resource allocation, and resolve construction difficulties one by one. During the pouring operation, the project team closely monitored process standards, continuously strengthened whole-process supervision and control, and fortified the safety and quality defense line to ensure the safe and high-quality implementation of this conventional island FCD.
The FCD of the conventional island of Unit 2 is a key engineering milestone for the Bailong Nuclear Power Plant project, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the turbine pedestal and basement side walls. Moving forward, Guangxi Nuclear Power will continue to uphold the principle of "Safety First, Quality First," and with the work philosophy of "Six Management Areas" and "Six Key Focus Points," safely and efficiently advance the construction of the Bailong Nuclear Power Plant project, contributing green nuclear energy to support Guangxi's accelerated development as a national comprehensive energy security assurance zone.
