Fuse Signs Five-Year Cooperative R&D Agreement with Nevada National Security Sites
U.S. fusion energy company Fuse Energy Technologies Corporation (Fuse) announced on August 2 that it has signed a five-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS) at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS). MSTS manages and operates NNSS.

The agreement establishes a long-term collaboration framework between Fuse and NNSS. The initial research projects will focus on next-generation fusion technology validation, tritium-related capability enhancement, increasing neutron yield from pulsed fusion generators, and building the U.S. domestic pulsed power industrial base.
This collaboration further extends Fuse's partnership network within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) system. Previously, Fuse has signed CRADAs with Los Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories.
NNSS is one of NNSA's key experimental, research, and training institutions, with specialized capabilities supporting stockpile stewardship, high energy density science research, and other nuclear security missions. Under the agreement, the two parties will combine Fuse's R&D foundation in pulsed power and fusion-related hardware with NNSS's technical and experimental capabilities to advance relevant technology assessment and validation efforts.
Fuse stated that the company is supporting defense and energy-related programs through commercial fusion energy R&D and radiation effects testing services. This collaboration will provide a new validation platform for its fusion technology roadmap and nuclear security-related applications.
