Korea Association for Radiation Application revises RI/SRI examination textbook "Radiation Theory and Practice" 8th edition after 11 years
The Korea Association for Radiation Application (KARA) has released the 8th revised edition of the professional textbook "Core Analysis! Radiation Theory and Practice," designed for candidates preparing for the Radioisotope Operator General License (RI) and Radiation Handling Supervisor License (SRI) examinations. This revision marks a comprehensive update conducted 11 years after the previous revision, reflecting recent RI·SRI license examination trends, revised legislation, and changes in radiation-related technologies and systems, with the content fully restructured.

The revised edition was reviewed by multiple radiation field experts, including Lee Jae-gi, a professional committee member of the Korea Association for Radiation Application, enhancing the accuracy and professionalism of the textbook. The core theories have been comprehensively restructured to help candidates systematically acquire the knowledge required for the license examinations. Other experts who participated in the review include Professor Kim Yong-min of Catholic University of Daegu, Professor Lee Hwa-hyeong of Kyungpook National University, Professor Seo Hee of Jeonbuk National University, Professor Jeong Dong-gyeong of Daegu Health College, and Dr. Park Yun-hwan of the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety.
The revised 8th edition divides the previously single-volume textbook into Volume 1 (Nuclear Theory · Radiation Damage Protection · Radiation Handling Technology) and Volume 2 (Nuclear-related Laws and Regulations), improving learning efficiency. The textbook systematically restructures the core concepts and major theories of each subject and improves portability to enhance the learning convenience of candidates. In addition, a "Final Memory Notes" appendix that condenses core theories and major formulas is provided, allowing candidates to review key content before the examination or engage in repetitive learning while on the move.
