SPIC Archives Management Project Selected for National Archives Administration AI Application Pilot
On July 29, the National Archives Administration issued the "Notice on Announcing AI Application Pilot Projects." The "Archives Management AI Application Pilot Project" submitted by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) stood out from 253 pilot projects and was successfully selected, thanks to its solid digitalization foundation for archives, clear AI integration implementation roadmap, and distinctive application scenarios characteristic of central energy enterprises, becoming an important practical vehicle for digital transformation of archives in central enterprises.
In April this year, to safely, steadily, and orderly promote the application of AI in the archives industry, the National Archives Administration issued the "Notice on Carrying Out AI Application Pilot Work," requiring pilot efforts in five aspects: computing power, models, data, scenarios, and security. SPIC attached great importance to the AI application pilot work, with the Group Office leading the project application. Participating entities—SPIC Shared Services Company (Archives and Confidentiality Center), Huanghe Company, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute, Shandong Company, SPIC Digital Technology, and Zhanjiang Nuclear Power—worked in unison to actively carry out exploration and practice. The final application project, integrated with the Group's archives needs and actual work, advanced innovative integrated applications and successfully passed the expert review organized by the National Archives Administration.
Through preliminary exploration and practice, SPIC has focused on five core directions in archives management AI applications: AI computing power scheduling and allocation, archives large model training, high-quality archives dataset construction, development of distinctive "AI + Archives" scenarios, and intelligent archives security control. Combined with the unique characteristics of energy industry archives, the Group has developed an integrated "AI + Archives" overall solution tailored for large comprehensive energy central enterprises.
It is reported that SPIC will promote the implementation of the pilot from the following aspects: strengthening the underlying AI infrastructure; connecting the entire business chain of archives "collection, management, preservation, and utilization"; building an intelligent security control system; and deepening the deep integration of AI with archives operations. This will transform static archived resources into dynamic knowledge assets that can be mined and reused, fully unleashing the supporting value of archives in project construction, scientific research innovation, and business strategic decision-making. Through digital and intelligent transformation of archives, the Group aims to empower its high-quality development and strive to establish itself as a benchmark for "AI + Archives" innovation among central enterprises.
