Amentum Selected for UK Grid Upgrade and Protection Projects
Amentum has announced that it has been selected by SSEN Transmission to undertake strategic roles under two UK energy framework agreements, providing digital and cybersecurity engineering services for UK grid upgrades.

Under the arrangements, Amentum will serve as the sole supplier of high-end cybersecurity engineering services, contributing to the digitalization and security capability enhancement of the UK power grid. The services will focus on critical asset protection, digital capability expansion, operational data application, and security architecture development for grid operations.
SSEN Transmission is the owner and operator of the high-voltage transmission system in northern Scotland, responsible for the construction and operation of the local transmission network. Amentum stated that as the UK grid expansion accelerates, the relevant infrastructure needs to incorporate security requirements at the design stage to support energy supply security and clean energy integration.
The agreement has a term of three years. Amentum will leverage its experience in digital transformation, operational technology, and renewable energy grid integration to carry out the work, with the delivery team primarily drawn from its offices in Cardiff, Glasgow, London, and Warrington. The company has been providing security architecture support to SSEN Transmission since 2022.
Amentum has an extensive business presence in the UK energy and nuclear power sectors. The company employs more than 6,000 people in the UK and is a delivery partner for project and construction management services at Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, as well as a delivery partner for project and program management services at Sizewell C nuclear power station. Amentum also provides support to existing UK nuclear power stations under a long-term enterprise agreement with EDF.
In addition, Amentum is a supplier of engineering design, safety case, and project management services for the decommissioning of Sellafield and other UK nuclear sites, and operates a private nuclear laboratory and engineering testing facility in Warrington. The company stated that its participation in this grid cybersecurity project will further complement its engineering and technical service capabilities in the UK energy infrastructure sector.
