Shenzhen Superconduct Technologies Co., Ltd. Completes Angel Round Financing

According to Qichacha information, on September 18, 2026, second-generation high-temperature superconducting material R&D and manufacturer Shenzhen Superconduct Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Superconduct”) completed an angel round of financing, with the investor being Shenzhen Yijun Technology Co., Ltd. The financing amount has not yet been disclosed.

Superconduct was established in September 2022 and is a high-tech enterprise focusing on the R&D and preparation of second-generation high-temperature superconducting YBCO (yttrium barium copper oxide) tapes. The company's technical team is led by an academician and was the first globally to master double-sided YBCO thin-film tape preparation technology. It is the only enterprise in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area engaged in the industrialization of high-performance second-generation high-temperature superconducting YBCO tapes.

High-temperature superconducting tapes are regarded as the “bottleneck” core material for the commercialization of controlled nuclear fusion. In magnetic confinement fusion devices, high-temperature superconducting magnets are the core component with the highest cost proportion, and REBCO tapes, with their strong current-carrying capacity under high magnetic fields, have become a key material for compact magnetic confinement fusion devices.

From the perspective of material characteristics, traditional low-temperature superconducting materials need to operate at liquid helium temperature (-269°C), resulting in high cooling costs and dependence on scarce helium resources. High-temperature superconducting materials represented by REBCO have a critical temperature higher than liquid nitrogen temperature (-196°C), greatly reducing cooling costs while significantly improving performance in carrying current and resisting magnetic fields.

The value proportion of high-temperature superconducting tapes in fusion devices exceeds 30%. According to industry estimates, the total investment in fusion projects at home and abroad is nearly 100 billion yuan, and upstream high-temperature superconducting materials are currently in a state of severe supply shortage.
