At the early hours of September 16, with the smooth takeoff of the first departing flight MF8487, Terminal 2 of the Fuzhou Changle International Airport Phase II Expansion Project was officially put into commercial operation, marking that Fuzhou Airport has officially entered the “dual-terminal, dual-runway” operation era. Relying on the nuclear technology commercialization platform of Tsinghua University, the smart civil aviation security inspection system and nearly 300 sets of full-category security inspection hardware equipment customized and developed by Nuctech for the terminal were simultaneously put into operation, fully supporting the efficient and secure flow of 36 million passenger trips per year at Terminal 2.

This deployment covers all aviation security inspection nodes, including passenger carry-on baggage, checked baggage and personal inspection. Nuctech has built a multi-dimensional technical defense line centered on advanced radiation imaging, with key deployment of carry-on baggage CT security inspection systems, multi-view/dual-view X-ray inspection equipment and millimeter-wave body imaging security gates:

High-precision ray tomographic imaging and material identification: The carry-on baggage CT system utilizes high-energy X-ray multi-angle projection and 3D tomographic reconstruction algorithms to accurately determine the three-dimensional spatial configuration, effective atomic number and electron density of items without unpacking baggage, achieving atomic-level automatic identification and alarming of explosives, liquid hazardous chemicals and prohibited items;

“AI + IoT” intelligent image judgment and quality control closed loop: A security inspection quality control system and a baggage layered management platform have been launched in support, relying on deep learning AI-assisted image judgment algorithms and IoT architecture to achieve real-time interconnection of all equipment across the site, remote image judgment and full-process visual monitoring of operational quality, significantly reducing the traditional manual bag-opening rate and missed-detection rate;

“One Machine, Two Screens, One-Time Inspection” customs-aviation joint inspection breakthrough: Targeting the outbound international flight scenario, an innovative civil aviation security inspection and customs inspection “one machine, two screens” joint inspection mode has been introduced. A single ray scan can generate bidirectional data streams, enabling instant data sharing and mutual recognition between customs and airport security inspection, greatly reducing passenger clearance waiting time.

This integrated intelligent security inspection solution, through deep synergy between advanced radiation imaging detection hardware and intelligent software platforms, enhances security inspection identification accuracy and the capability to detect concealed prohibited items while maximizing the throughput efficiency of terminal channels, setting a new benchmark for the aviation security and radiation inspection system of large smart civil aviation hubs in China.
