A delegation led by Dai Minmin of Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment Co., Ltd. visited the fusion research facility for a fact-finding and exchange visit.

July 22, 2026, marked the first anniversary of the official establishment of China Fusion. A delegation led by Dai Minmin, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment), visited China Fusion for a research and exchange session. They were received by Liu Ye, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Fusion, and Yu Xiaolong, Party Committee Member, Deputy General Manager, and Board Secretary. Cao Qingwei, a Director of China Fusion and Investment Director at Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment, also participated in the discussion.

Liu Ye extended a warm welcome to Dai Minmin and the delegation, expressing gratitude for the long-standing support provided by the Shanghai municipal government and Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment. He noted that over the past year, China Fusion has rapidly transitioned to substantive operations, established a new "two-location, three-zone" layout for R&D and production, accelerated the implementation of key tasks through a controllable nuclear fusion innovation consortium, and achieved new milestones in international scientific research cooperation. Standing at this new starting point of its first anniversary, China Fusion remains committed to its strategic mission as a "national team" player; it will solidify its five key development roles, focus on the goal of fusion engineering, and comprehensively advance breakthroughs in critical fusion energy technologies and the construction of major projects.

Dai Minmin congratulated China Fusion on its first anniversary and highly commended the "Fusion Speed" demonstrated by the company over the past year in areas such as management, operations, and technological breakthroughs. He noted that fusion energy, as a cutting-edge disruptive technology, has been identified as a key focus area for future industries in my country's "15th Five-Year Plan." Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment is committed to leveraging China Fusion’s role as a "chain leader" to fully support national strategic layouts and the development of Shanghai as a city with "five centers" of global significance. Moving forward, Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment will support China Fusion in accelerating core technology breakthroughs across six areas: serving as a source of scientific innovation, investment layout, empowerment and incubation, talent exchange, corporate governance, and industrial ecosystem building. Together, they aim to enhance regional innovation density and industrial clustering in Shanghai, jointly creating a globally influential hub for fusion energy innovation. Representatives from relevant departments—including Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment’s Administrative Office, Investment Management Department, SDIC Future, and SDIC Empowerment, as well as China Fusion’s General Office, Planning and Development Department, Industrial Investment Department, and Science, Technology, and Digitalization Department—participated in the event.
