Meeting of the New Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Radiation Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Held in Beijing
Recently, the meeting of the new academic committee of the Key Laboratory of Radiation Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (hereinafter referred to as the Key Laboratory) was successfully held in Beijing. Experts from multiple domestic universities, research institutes, and leading industry enterprises gathered together to discuss the construction, scientific and technological innovation, and the “15th Five-Year Plan” development of the Key Laboratory. The Radiation Environmental Monitoring Technical Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the supporting institution of the Key Laboratory, attended the meeting.
The meeting first announced the appointment documents for the new academic committee and held a certificate awarding ceremony. In his address, the main responsible person of the Radiation Environmental Monitoring Technical Center congratulated the establishment of the new academic committee and expressed gratitude to the experts who have long supported the construction of the Key Laboratory, hoping that the experts could provide assistance in the overall planning of the Key Laboratory's development, talent cultivation and growth, and scientific and technological innovation exchanges and cooperation. The main responsible person of the Key Laboratory reported on the “recent construction and operational achievements of the Key Laboratory,” objectively analyzed the current development shortcomings, and proposed the next work plan; the relevant responsible person of the Key Laboratory reported on the preparation of the “15th Five-Year Plan” scientific research plan for the Radiation Environmental Monitoring Technical Center and the Key Laboratory. In addition, two senior engineers of the Key Laboratory delivered academic reports on the topics of “Research on Radionuclide Screening Based on Membrane Materials” and “Research Progress on Analytical Methods for Difficult-to-Measure Radionuclides.”
During the exchange and discussion session, the experts shared their views based on their respective research fields and industry regulatory needs, and put forward a series of targeted and constructive suggestions and recommendations on key topics such as the optimization of the Key Laboratory's research directions, sharing of large-scale instruments, cultivation of young talents, transformation of scientific research achievements, and support for national nuclear and radiation safety regulation.
This meeting further clarified the medium- and long-term development path of the Key Laboratory. In the next step, the Key Laboratory will fully absorb the experts' opinions, refine and improve the “15th Five-Year Plan” scientific research plan, rely on high-end academic think tank resources, continuously strengthen technological innovation and talent cultivation, and make every effort to build a high-level radiation environmental monitoring scientific research platform, providing solid scientific and technological support for the high-quality development of China's nuclear industry and national nuclear safety assurance.
