On September 11, Luo Delong, Deputy Director-General of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Organization, and his delegation visited China Fusion Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “China Fusion”) for research and guidance, gaining an in-depth understanding of China Fusion's overall development situation and the progress of key task implementation. Zhang Libo, General Manager of China Fusion, accompanied the research visit.

During the visit, both parties held a special symposium. On behalf of China Fusion, Zhang Libo extended a warm welcome to Luo Delong and his delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude to the ITER Organization and Mr. Luo Delong for their concern, support, and guidance regarding China Fusion's development and the fulfillment of ITER Project-related tasks. At the meeting, Zhong Wulv, Chief Engineer of China Fusion, delivered an overall situation report, focusing on the current status and future prospects of China Fusion's development. Both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including international cooperation in the field of fusion energy, key engineering construction, and core technology research. Luo Delong expressed appreciation for China Fusion's rapid development over the past year since its establishment, fully affirmed the phased achievements made, and thanked China Fusion for its important contributions during the implementation of the ITER Project.

Subsequently, Luo Delong delivered a special lecture titled "ITER Project Implementation Progress and Outlook" to more than 100 cadres and staff, systematically sharing valuable experience in collaborative management and key technology breakthroughs of global large-scale scientific projects. The lecture was delivered in an accessible manner, effectively broadening the international perspective of the participants and deepening their understanding of the global fusion energy development landscape.

After the meeting, Luo Delong and his delegation conducted an on-site inspection of Phase I of the Shanghai Fusion Science Research Center and the High-Temperature Superconducting Magnet R&D Department (Shanghai Heavy Machinery Plant), going deep into the front lines of project construction to learn in detail about project progress, equipment manufacturing, and on-site management, and providing professional guidance on production development and project advancement.

This research visit and exchange built an important platform for China Fusion to further deepen cooperation with the ITER Organization and enhance its management capabilities for major scientific research projects. In the future, China Fusion will continue to strengthen international exchange and cooperation, accelerate the advancement of fusion energy R&D and industrialization, actively serve the national “dual carbon” strategy, and contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese strength to promoting the global clean energy transition.

Li Jinchao, Head of the Power Supply Division of the Construction Department of the ITER Organization; Yu Xuefeng, Hu Yong, Zhong Wulv, and He Yanqing, leaders of China Fusion; and heads of relevant departments and units including the Company Office, Planning and Development Department, Science, Technology and Digitalization Department, Industrial Investment Department, Shanghai Base Engineering Management Department, and Fusion Engineering Design Institute participated in the research activity.
