Canadian uranium exploration company Triton Uranium advances Atlas project, identifies 46.56 million pounds of potential uranium resources
Canadian uranium exploration company Triton Uranium recently announced that it has completed four technical reports compliant with NI 43-101 and S-K 1300 standards for its Atlas project located in Saskatchewan. The reports indicate that satellite mineralized occurrences and exploration target areas within the project area exhibit low-grade open-pit potential resources of up to 46.56 million pounds of triuranium octoxide (U₃O₈).

This major technical breakthrough comes as the United States and Canada accelerate the construction of a continent-wide critical minerals supply chain under the U.S.-Canada Critical Minerals Action Plan. Meanwhile, Canada is fully advancing its nuclear energy strategy, with new reactor construction, small modular reactor (SMR) development, and the refurbishment of existing units greatly driving strong demand for safe, domestically sourced uranium supply.
Against this backdrop, the global nuclear industry is entering a new growth phase, with governments and utilities striving to secure nuclear fuel supplies to support the nuclear renaissance and reduce geopolitical and supply chain risks. Scott Evans, President and Director of Triton Uranium, stated that the company is not merely exploring for uranium, but is helping to build a secure domestic nuclear fuel supply system in North America, and that Saskatchewan, as a reliable allied mineral source, will play a pivotal role.
These technical reports were prepared by Stantec Consulting Ltd. and signed on July 27, 2026, marking an important milestone in advancing Triton's uranium asset portfolio. The optimized large-scale low-grade open-pit model has refined the resource estimate for the Red Rock deposit, which contains 276,700 tonnes of indicated mineral resources (average grade of 0.087% U₃O₈, containing approximately 531,000 pounds of uranium), and 20,900 tonnes of inferred mineral resources (average grade of 0.060% U₃O₈, containing approximately 27,800 pounds of uranium).
The Atlas project is located in Saskatchewan's historic Beaverlodge uranium mining district, which has historically produced approximately 77.8 million pounds of triuranium octoxide. Triton's approximately 46,000-acre property is adjacent to several historically high-producing uranium mining centers, including the Ace-Fay-Verna mine area, which produced approximately 50.4 million pounds of triuranium octoxide, as well as other significant mineralized zones such as Dubyna and Cinch-Cenex located within or near its property boundaries.
To further unlock exploration potential, Triton's recently completed airborne radiometric survey identified approximately 11,000 meters of near-surface open-pit potential target zones across the entire property. The company is currently evaluating these targets through a 10,000-meter drilling program and has planned a new drilling campaign for the winter of 2026/2027 to continuously expand its understanding of deeper mineralization potential.
